Delano Beach Club comes stocked with a chess board and hammocks

Reporting from Las Vegas — When a pool scene without the boom, boom, boom of dance music is more in line, the new Delano Beach Club at Delano Las Vegas offers a South Beach-inspired paradise.
The pool scene, which just opened at the resort, is decked out in teals and cobalts with an oversized chess board sitting on the wet deck. Chaise lounges and 16 private cabanas circle the space. For a complete escape that seems like something out of the Caribbean, guests can hang out on one of the pool’s hammocks.
The emphasis here seems to be the food and drinks. Frozen grapes and cucumber slices, mango-infused sparkling water or watermelon and orange juice shooters are just some of the healthier bites, although a house-smoked brisket and crab salad sandwiches make up some of the more substantial dishes served poolside.
The poolside retreat even has its own cocktail menu with drinks such as the Vanilla Berry Blitz with vanilla, lime and mint and the Prickly Pear-a-dise with elderflower, lychee and prickly pear. Guests can order craft beers such as Anchor California Lager and Genesee Cream Ale or lighter brews such as Curious Traveler Lemon Shandy and Rekorderlig Strawberry Lime Cider.
Cabanas range from $75 on Mondays through Thursdays, $100 on Fridays and $125 on Saturdays and Sundays.
