New York: Algonquin Hotel unwraps a suite for book lovers

Looking to catch up on your summer reading? You might want to consider checking into the Algonquin.

The Manhattan hotel, known for its rich literary reputation and Round Table regulars such as Dorothy Parker and Robert Benchley, has partnered with Simon & Schuster to unveil a book-themed suite and a series of author events that will appeal to any bibliophile.

Besides the usual hotel amenities, the Simon & Schuster Suite houses publishing memorabilia and a bookcase filled with literary classics and modern bestsellers. As part of the turndown service on your first night, you will find an advance copy of a soon-to-be-published book from one of S&S;’s imprints. It is yours to begin reading and take home.

The first in the series is Chuck Klosterman, who will discuss his new book, “I Wear the Black Hat: Grappling With Villains (Real and Imagined).” He will appear July 8 at 6 p.m.
