Department store holiday windows in New York and beyond
Every year department stores on the East Cost and elsewhere roll out their splashy seasonal window displays--and this year is no exception. So if you’re traveling to New York or across the pond, do a little window stopping to keep your holiday spirit bright.
Saks Fifth Avenue, New York

The window displays at Bloomingdale’s have the classic feel of a pop-up book. The store designed windows dedicated to songs sung by Tony Bennett on a new holiday CD. This one is titled “Christmas Time Is Here.”
“Believe,” the making of Christmas magic, is the theme for the 150th anniversary of the Herald Square flagship store.

Neiman Marcus, Dallas, Texas
Two original Christmas tree designs in Neiman Marcus’ windows in Dallas catch the attention of a passerby. The two trees were based on “fantasy tree” ideas submitted by children at St. Philip’s School and Community Center and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, which treats pediatric orthopedic conditions, according to the Associated Press.

Neiman Marcus, Dallas, Texas
The original Christmas tree design at Neiman Marcus in Dallas is based on 9-year-old Jordan McNair’s vision of a fantasy tree that focused on saving the environment. McNair’s “clean tree” is made using 59 rotating translucent globes filled with items such as crushed aluminum cans, diapers and rolled-up newspapers and arranged in the shape of a tree.
