"It's snowing on Tioga Pass right now!!!!!" Mono County Tourism gushed on its Facebook page Thursday morning. The accompanying video posted by the Eastern Sierra agency shows snow falling at the almost 10,000-foot Sierra pass on the east side of Yosemite National Park.
Tioga Pass on California 120 closed for a few hours Wednesday night when snow started, according to tweets by Caltrans. Here's what westbound traffic on the highway that runs east-west through the park looked like Thursday.
Snow also accumulated farther north at Sonora Pass on California 108.
The snow fizzled to rain by Thursday afternoon. Weather forecasts say rain and is expected Friday (today) and Saturday throughout Yosemite, with highs in the 60s.
