Hawaii: Free breakfast, $50 resort credit offered at south Maui resort

If you’re planning a trip to Maui, you can net some savings on stays through Dec. 19 at the Makena Beach & Golf Resort with a prepaid stay.
You must reserve by Feb. 25, but the $269-a-night package, which includes breakfast and a resort credit, represents a savings over the standard room rate.
The deal: The President’s Week Limited Time Offer for the south Maui resort includes a full breakfast buffet for two (a $50 value) plus a $50-a-day resort credit. There’s no resort fee and Makena provides all guests with free parking and free Internet.
When: The offer is available every day through Dec. 19, except for an April 5-10 blackout.
Tested: The hotel’s website allows readers to view a calendar to determine when the $269 offer is available. When I checked on Feb. 17, there was availability each night Feb. 28-December 19, except for those six nights in April. However, once booked and paid for, the offer is nonrefundable.
