USC junior Darreus Rogers has an opportunity to earn a starting spot at receiver.
Nelson Agholor and George Farmer made themselves available for the NFL draft, leaving Rogers as the only player in the position group with three years of experience.
“I’m playing faster, smarter,” Rogers said Tuesday after practice.
Rogers, 6 feet 1 and 215 pounds, caught 21 passes for 245 yards and four touchdowns last season. He played in 13 games, but only had multiple receptions in six.
Rogers said he needed to demonstrate consistency to coaches this spring.
“They can trust me,” he said.
