LeBron James presents Heat teammates with WWE championship belts

LeBron James and the Miami Heat are the two-time defending NBA champs.
So why don’t they have the championship belts to prove it?
Well, see, it’s because they give out rings, not belts, for winning an NBA title.
That just wasn’t good enough for James, a lifelong fan of pro wrestling. Especially not after he got his very own authentic WWE belt, courtesy of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

With some help from WWE chief brand officer Stephanie McMahon, James acquired customized WWE championship belts for his teammates and presented them after Wednesday’s practice.

James actually might resemble a professional wrestler Thursday against the New York Knicks. He will wear a protective mask over his broken nose.
“I’ve been talking to Marvel Comics for the last couple of days, and DC Comics, to try to come up with one of the greatest masks of all time,” James said with a chuckle Wednesday. “So we’ll see what happens.”
