USC football: Josh Shaw comfortable at cornerback

Josh Shaw’s versatility is paying off again for USC.
The junior transferred to USC from Florida in spring 2012 and played as a reserve safety, before moving to cornerback and starting the last seven games.
With T.J. McDonald and Jawanza Starling having completed their eligibility, Shaw returned to safety and started in the opener against Hawaii, returning an interception for a touchdown in the Trojans’ 30-13 victory.
But with cornerbacks Anthony Brown and Kevon Seymour suffering injuries, Shaw moved back to cornerback and started against Washington State.
“I enjoyed it, being out there on the island,” said Shaw, who had two tackles. “It was a challenge for me because I really only had one week to prepare for it and we were playing a throwing team with good wide receivers.”
Shaw is expected to start again at cornerback Saturday against Boston College. Senior Torin Harris, who intercepted a pass against Washington State, is expected to start at the other cornerback spot.
