Steelers tackle Mike Adams stabbed in apparent robbery attempt

Mike Adams, a second-year tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has been hospitalized after being stabbed in an apparent robbery attempt Saturday morning, the team said.
“We are in direct communication with both Mike and his family,” Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert said in an emailed statement. “Mike is expected to make a full recovery.”
The Steelers said the incident occurred in the early morning in Pittsburgh’s South Side.
Adams took to Twitter to let fans know that he’s on the road to recovery.

Adams was a second-round round pick (No. 56 overall) in the 2012 draft and last season was the winner of the team’s Joe Greene Great Performance Award, given to the Steelers’ outstanding rookie.
He started six of the 10 games in which he played.
