The St. Louis Rams are close to trading quarterback Sam Bradford to Philadelphia for Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Both players are pocket passers.
The teams have not announced the deal.
Bradford, who sat out last season recovering from a torn ACL, last played in 2013, throwing for 1,687 yards and 14 touchdowns with four interceptions in seven games.
The No. 1 overall pick in 2010, Bradford has only played a full 16 games in two of his five seasons.
That the Eagles are moving on from Foles is not a surprise, even though he threw for 27 touchdowns with just two interceptions two years ago. He came back to Earth last season with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions through the first eight games, then missed the second half of the with a broken collarbone.
