Hawks’ Mike Scott arrested ... as foreshadowed by his emoji tattoos
- Share via
Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Scott was arrested Thursday morning after sheriff's deputies pulled over an SUV he was riding in and found 10.9 grams of MDNA, commonly known as Molly, and more than an ounce of marijuana.
Scott has been charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule I drug, according to a report from the Banks County Sheriff’s office. His brother, Antonn, who was driving the vehicle, faces those charges as well as fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement officers and following too closely.
The Hawks said they were aware of the situation but had no comment.
But there's a weird twist to this story (thanks to Vice Sports for pointing this out). Scott is a 27-year-old backup who averaged 7.8 points last season who might be best known for his love of emojis -- and the fact that he has them tattooed all over his body.
Take a look at these photos from his Instagram account:
Check out the sequence of emojis on his right shoulder -- a cop, an unamused face and a police car. Clearly that emoji in the middle has gotten into some trouble with the law.
And now the same thing has happened to Scott himself -- and, judging by some of his earlier Instagram photos, less than a year after he got those particular tattoos. Coincidence?
