Clippers’ J.J. Redick might play against Dallas; Jamal Crawford out

Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said shooting guard J.J. Redick has a good chance of playing Thursday night against the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center.

“There’s a chance,” Rivers said. “A 50-50 chance.”

Rivers paused for a few moments, then increased the chances of Redick’s playing.

“Go ahead with 75%,” said Rivers, smiling.

Redick has been out 25 games with a bulging disk in his lower back.

He hasn’t played in a game since Feb. 3.

Redick was with the Clippers on their five-game trip, working out during shoot-arounds and when the team had optional practices.

In the 36 games Redick played in this season, he averaged 15.7 points per game, fourth-best on the team.

Rivers did say that backup shooting guard Jamal Crawford will miss his third straight game with a sore left Achilles’ tendon.

Crawford was injured during the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s game in Houston.

Crawford is averaging 18.6 points per game, third-best on the team.
