Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe arrested on marijuana possession charge

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana late Sunday after he was pulled over for speeding in Riverside, Mo.
According to Riverside police, an officer was parked and using speed-tracking radar at about midnight Sunday when a car was detected going 48 mph in a 35-mph zone.
The officer pulled over the car and when he approached the car to talk to the driver, Dwayne Bowe, he said he smelled a strong odor of marijuana.
After requesting the driver and two passengers get out of the car, the officer searched the car with a K-9 unit dog and found more than 10 grams of marijuana, police said.
Bowe and one of his passengers, George Thompson, were transported to the Riverside Police Department for booking.
Bowe was charged with speeding and possession of a controlled substance with a bond of $750.
Thompson was charged with possession of a controlled substance with a bond of $500.
The other passenger in the car, who was not charged, posted bond for both men.
