The U.S. wrestling team has generated some momentum heading into the final two days of the world championships.
With Olympic champ Jordan Burroughs scheduled to compete on Saturday, the Americans picked up a couple of golds from the women’s side on Thursday night.
Adeline Gray and Helen Maroulis won in the 165-pound and 121-pound divisions, respectively, in Las Vegas.
“I don’t think there’s a girl out there who can beat me,” Gray said. “It’s just about stepping on that mat and making sure I’m disciplined enough to get my job done that day.”
Friday’s competitors will include men’s freestyle wrestler Jake Herbert, a past silver medalist at the world championships.
