Update: Chivas USA won its season opener against the Chicago Fire, 3-2, a week ago. Defender Bobby Burling’s header in the 88th minute gave Chivas USA the victory. The Whitecaps also won their season opener, 4-1, over the New York Bulls. Vancouver’s Kenny Miller, who played most of that game as an attacking midfielder, scored two goals in the match.
