Kings, Ducks continue to make impact in Sochi Olympics hockey

SOCHI, Russia -- The six Kings and seven Ducks who are representing their respective homelands have had a big impact on the Sochi Olympics hockey tournament.

Here’s a look at how they did in games played Sunday:

Austria 3, Norway 1: No Kings or Ducks in this one.

Russia 1, Slovakia 0 (shootout): Kings defenseman Slava Voynov had no shots or points and played 17 minutes 49 seconds.

U.S. 5, Slovenia 1: Kings center Anze Kopitar left the game in the second period because of a suspected case of stomach flu. He had won nine of 13 face-offs and played 11:31. Kings winger Dustin Brown assisted on the fifth U.S. goal, by David Backes, and was +1 defensively. He took no shots in 10:51. Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler had no points or shots for the U.S. but was +2 in 15:13 of ice time. Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick got the day off after winning the first two games. Buffalo’s Ryan Miller started and Detroit’s Jimmy Howard was his backup.

Canada 2, Finland 1 (OT): Kings defenseman Drew Doughty scored both goals for Canada, padding his total to four in three games. Kings forward Jeff Carter had an assist and three shots for Canada in 17:56. Ducks right wing Teemu Selanne had no shots and no points for Finland in 17:13 and Ducks defenseman Sami Vatanen had no shots and was -1 defensively for Finland in 20:21. Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf had one shot in 14:40 for Canada. Ducks right wing Corey Perry had two shots in 14:55 for Canada.
