Kobe Bryant to play at Portland, but may sit out back-to-back game against Indiana

After Kobe Bryant participated in about 75% of the Lakers’ practice Friday that included him playing in the scrimmage, Coach Byron Scott said his star will play Saturday night at Portland. Then he’ll decided whether Bryant plays Sunday against Indiana at Staples Center.
The Lakers and Bryant haven’t played since being blown out by the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.
Bryant didn’t practice Wednesday with the Lakers, and the team took Thursday off before practicing Friday, giving him three days to rest his 37-year-old body in between games.
With the Lakers about to play back-to-back games against the Trail Blazers before hosting the Pacers, Scott has to decide how to use Bryant before the Lakers embark on an eight-game, 13-day trip that starts Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
“The plan is to play one of the two,” Scott said. “We’ll figure that out tomorrow. But right now, I’m just taking it a game at a time. So tomorrow, obviously he’ll play, and then we’ll see how he feels Sunday, and we’ll go from there.”
