Lakers’ week in review

The NBA playoffs advanced to the second round, but the Lakers have been on vacation for almost a month.
Jodie Meeks completed his degree at the University of Kentucky, graduating over the weekend.
Nick Young received votes for the NBA sixth man of the year award, but just a few.
Not much progress was made in pursuit of a new head coach.
Kobe Bryant told Jimmy Kimmel that he “didn’t care” that Mike D’Antoni resigned. The Lakers don’t appear to be in a rush to fill the position.
While a gambling site named Byron Scott and Kevin Ollie as favorites for the Lakers’ coaching job, the team has yet to conduct formal interviews.
North Carolina Coach Roy Williams has made the list. George Karl, who was roommates with Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak, said he expects a phone call from the Lakers for at least a conversation about the position.
The Golden State Warriors fired Mark Jackson, who could make the Lakers’ list as well.
Pau Gasol, who wasn’t a fan of D’Antoni’s coaching style, will be a free agent in July. Re-signing with the Lakers remains a possibility but he said he’ll give priority to title contenders when he chooses a team.
Finally, the Lakers tweeted out Mother’s Day greetings on Sunday.
