Update: The Sparks are on a three-game winning streak for the first time since August 2009, while the Silver Stars just suffered their first loss of the season against the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday. The Silver Stars are led by Sophia Young, Becky Hammon and Danielle Adams, each of whom is averaging about 17 points a game. The Sparks have very balanced scoring and, while Candace Parker leads the team with 16.6 points and nine rebounds a game, two of the team’s reserves — Kristi Toliver and Ebony Hoffman — have each led the team in scoring during a game. The Sparks are on the road for 11 of their next 13 games — they were 5-12 in games on the road last season.
