Waiting for a compromise [Update]

The CIF Southern Section and attorneys representing St. Bonaventure, Oaks Christian, Damien and St. Lucy’s are in communication and could have a discussion soon trying to find a compromise to their dispute over the schools being moved to the parochial area for sports leagues beginning in 2014-15.
A federal judge last week admonished both parties to do just that while she began to do research on whether to accept a motion to dismiss three federal lawsuits filed against the CIF Southern Section.
Based on my examination, the CIF and the schools are going to end up spending thousands of dollars if this dispute isn’t resolved away from the courtroom. There has to be a reasonable, fair solution for both sides.
The line of communication may be getting better.
Thom Simmons, the spokesman for the Southern Section, said Thursday, “Attorneys are and have been talking since they left the courtroom last Friday.”
I don’t think the judge is going to dismiss the case. The clock is ticking and the attorney fees are piling up.
