Heart screening at beach volleyball tournament
- Share via
The Chad Foundation is holding a volleyball tournament and heart screening on Saturday at Hermosa Beach in honor of Chad Butrum, a former North Hollywood baseball and football player who died a few days short of his 27th birthday in 1994.
Screenings that normally cost $2,500 will be free. The tournament begins at 9 a.m. Doctors will be providing voluntary heart screenings for anyone who wants one. The foundation has targeted high school athletes trying to spot cardiac disorders.
