Girls’ basketball: Katie Lou Samuelson makes 10 threes for Mater Dei

It was a memorable day in Phoenix for Katie Lou Samuelson of Santa Ana Mater Dei.
In an opening game of the Nike Tournament of Champions, Samuelson scored 41 points and set a school record with 10 three-pointers in a 67-34 win over Texas Skyline.
Samuelson is headed to UConn. Her 41 points ties a Mater Dei record.
