Football: Taping allegation led to South Pasadena’s forfeit
- Share via
South Pasadena was forced to forfeit its final game against La Canada and failed to land a playoff berth under sanctions from the Rio Hondo League after the school discovered an alleged violation of Southern Section rules, Southern Section spokesman Thom Simmons said.
The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported that the violation involved an alleged taping of a La Canada practice.
Simmons said football Coach Marty Konrad had been sanctioned by the school. Konrad did not coach on Friday when South Pasadena defeated La Canada, 21-3.
Konrad denied the taping allegation in a letter to parents on Tuesday.
