Football: Hawkins (7-0) gets its moment in the spotlight against Crenshaw
- Share via
First there was Los Angeles (7-0, 2-0) sweeping Crenshaw and Dorsey in consecutive Coliseum League games. That was pretty stunning.
Now it’s Hawkins (7-0, 2-0) that gets the opportunity to duplicate what the Romans pulled off. Hawkins hosts Crenshaw on Friday night, then faces Dorsey next week. If the Hawks get a sweep, they’ll play Los Angeles to end the season for the league title.
Hawkins certainly isn’t lacking in talent. Its receivers, Jalen Hall (32 catches, 578 yards, seven TDs) and Joseph Lewis (33 catches, 614 yards, six TDs), have multiple scholarship offers. Greg Johnson has rushed for 799 yards and eight touchdowns.
St. John Bosco transfer Dylan Lemle has passed for 1,623 yards and 19 touchdowns.
The one thing Crenshaw (4-3, 1-1) has going for it is having played a challenging schedule. This will be Hawkins’ toughest opponent by far.
