Gardena Serra improved to 7-0 with a 36-0 victory over Chaminade in a Mission League mismatch.
From the second play of the game, when Jordan Lasley caught a 76-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Greene, Serra was in complete control.
Greene rushed for 102 yards and scored two touchdowns. Adoree’ Jackson rushed for 92 yards, had an interception and had three touchdowns called back because of penalties. Darrion Naylor rushed for 114 yards.
Not bad for a team that supposedly couldn’t run the ball.
But it was Serra’s defense that was most impressive, led by linebacker John Houston. Brad Kaaya passed for 175 yards. Donovan Lee gained 36 yards.
Chaminade dropped to 5-2 and 1-1 in league.
Olajuwon Tucker, a defensive end-linebacker for Serra, announced he has committed to USC.
