Football: Chaminade shows off two sophomore running backs
- Share via
In its 32-30 season-opening win over St. Bonaventure, Chaminade showed that it has two talented sophomore running backs.
Everybody knew about T.J. Pledger from last season when he was an impact freshman. He has only gotten better. He rushed for 208 yards and scored five touchdowns.
Another sophomore, Andrew Van Buren, moving up from JVs. rushed for 108 yards.i
Considering that Chaminade’s line is loaded with sophomores, it was an encouraging start. It also means that Narbonne is pretty good, because the Gauchos handled Chaminade in a scrimmage the week before.
Quarterback Darius Vines passed for 272 yards and four touchdowns for St. Bonaventure.
