Football: Best game in the state this week is in Sacramento
- Share via
Sorry, L.A. fans, if you want to see the best football game in the state this weekend, you’ll have to travel to the CIF state championship Division I Northern California Regional bowl game between Folsom (14-0) and Sacramento Grant (14-0) at Sacramento State on Friday. The winner advances to the Division I final on Dec. 19 at StubHub Center in Carson.
Folsom is led by quarerback Jake Browning, the Gatorade state player of the year who is signed with Washington. He has passed for a national record 220 touchdowns in his career and has a state record 82 touchdown passes this season.
Folsom hasn’t been able to make it to Carson because it used to have to play De La Salle in an Open Division regional game. Now that the Open Division teams have a bye into the final, Folsom gets to play in Division I and will finally get the chance to play in Carson if it gets past a good Grant team.
