City Section is cracking down on schools that violate probation

The lesson from the City Section this season is if you’re on probation for violating a rule and commit another violation, the punishment will be severe.

Carson High’s baseball team found out Thursday, having its season suspended as punishment for a fight last week against San Pedro. Carson was already on probation for a bench-clearing violation last season against Banning.

Earlier, Narbonne’s girls’ basketball team was bounced from the playoffs for wearing pink on their uniforms. The Gauchos were already on probation for playing an ineligible player during the state playoffs. An appeal overturned the team ban but their coach was barred from the playoffs.

Currently, there are 16 programs on probation for rules violations, and the message is if they commit another violation while on probation, watch out.
