City Section hires its first marketing director

The new City Section office has hired its first marketing director. Hugo Ramirez, 26, a Venice High grad, will assume responsibilities for marketing the City Section athletics brand and finding sponsorships as the section begins its first year without relying on the Los Angeles Unified School District for its main financial support.

Ramirez played football at Venice and graduated in 2005. He attended San Diego State and has worked for several organizations in marketing, including the MLS.
