CIF state academic team champions announced

Fourteen teams from the Southern Section have won state academic team championships for their cumulative grade-point averages.
Santa Barbara won in girls’ water polo. Girls’ tennis and girls’ golf went to Webb. Boys’ cross country went to Fullerton Eastside Christian. Girls’ volleyball was won by Los Angeles Pilibos.
Hemet won in boys’ tennis, Ocean View in boys’ golf, Flintridge Prep in football and softball, Pasadena Poly in baseball, Atascadero in boys’ wrestling, Murrieta Cavalry Christian in boys’ volleyball, Whitney in boys’ track.
