Boys’ volleyball: Sean Shoptaw takes over at Mira Costa

Longtime assistant coach Sean Shoptaw has been named head coach at boys’ volleyball power Manhattan Beach Mira Costa. He will replace Mike Ninnis, who resigned after five years as coach.
Shoptaw is a Mira Costa grad who played collegiate volleyball.
