Boys’ soccer: The save that sent Loyola into Division I finals [Video]
The most extraordinary statistic to come out of the Southern Section Division 1 semifinal soccer match between Servite and Loyola on Tuesday is this: 19 different players from the two teams combined to make consecutive penalty kicks.
“It was amazing,” Loyola Coach Chris Walter said.
Not until Loyola goalie Carl Rubschlager made the decisive save (see video above) did the game finally end.
Loyola will play San Clemente in Saturday’s final at 7:30 p.m. at Downey Warren.
