Soccer: Loyola gets No. 1 seed in Southern California Regional

Southern Section Division 1 champion Loyola was seeded No. 1 and City Section Division 1 champion Birmingham was seeded No. 2 for the Southern California Soccer Regional in Division I.
Loyola will open at home against Bell on Tuesday. Birmingham will host Anaheim.
The pairings: Bell at Loyola; Corona at Buchanan; Carlsbad at San Clemente; Anaheim at Birmingham. The championship is Saturday at Warren.
Division II: Animo Leadership at Cathedral; Baldwin Park at San Diego Southwest; Coronado at Canoga Park; Bakersfield South at Royal.
Division III: Mendez at Farmersville; Nordhoff at Sun Valley; Valley Christian at Gompers Prep; Vistamar at St. Margaret’s.
In girls’ Division I: Granada Hills at Westview; Huntington Beach Edison at Torrey Pines; Serrano at Buchanan; Pacifica at Chino Hills.
Division II: Lakewood St. Joseph at San Diego Cathedral Catholic; Hart at Santa Margarita; South Torrance at La Costa Canyon; Verdugo Hills at Central Valley Christian.
Division III: High Tech at Oaks Christian; St. Monica at Marymount; St. Margaret’s at Francis Parker; Fulton College Prep at Bakersfield Christian.
