Boys’ basketball: Fremont’s Sam Sullivan gets 700th victory

Los Angeles Fremont Coach Sam Sullivan, in his 38th season, won his 700th coaching victory on Friday when Fremont defeated Hawkins, 76-34, in a Coliseum League game. Markell Brown had 23 points. Crenshaw defeated Locke, 90-28.
Fairfax improved to 25-0 with a 100-52 Western League win over University. Isaiah Ajiboye had 22 points, Donald Gipson 20 and Lindsey Drew added 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
In the West Valley League, El Camino Real defeated Birmingham, 63-38. Brandon Russell had 17 points and Nick Heller 16. Taft defeated Cleveland, 72-45, with Damian Wilson scoring 17 points. Granada Hills defeated Chatsworth, 60-44. Travis Fukumoto had 15 points and eight steals.
In the East Valley League, Poly defeated Chavez, 104-81. Cesar Reyes finished with 46 points. Verdugo Hills defeated Monroe, 65-44. Adrian Gutierrez scored 20 points. Grant defeated Arleta, 65-51. Chad Holloway had 19 points.
Sherman Oaks CES defeated East Valley, 100-60. Patrick Toral had 15 points.
