Baseball: Crespi removes coach after tournament incident

Crespi Athletic Director Russell White confirmed Tuesday that a member of the baseball coaching staff has been “relieved of his duties” as the school continues to investigate an off-the-field incident that resulted in the team leaving the Lions tournament in San Diego last week.
White said in an email that disciplinary action will be taken against players involved in the incident, which involved alcohol. Crespi is set to play Sherman Oaks Notre Dame next week, and the team will not be at full strength, he said.
White said the team pulled itself out of the tournament “due to inappropriate off-the-field behavior.”
Mike Glendenning remains as head coach.
