Kevin Pearson is selected to become football coach at Warren

Kevin Pearson, who built L.A. Cathedral into a high-scoring, successful football power, has been selected the new football coach at Warren High in Downey. He will be reunited with his twin brother, Scott, who has been Warren’s baseball coach and once coached at Cathedral. He has received district approval and now must complete the hiring process before officially starting on the job.
Pearson didn’t coach last season. He was known for producing top passing attacks at Cathedral, with more than a dozen receivers heading off to the college ranks. His team’s quarterback threw for more than 3,000 yards five of the previous six years he coached. He had a 201-68 record in 23 years.
He’ll take over for Raul Lara, who resigned.
