Dodgers will not sign Jon Lester

REPORTING FROM SAN DIEGO — The Dodgers will not be adding Jon Lester to their rotation, a person familiar the situation said Tuesday night under the condition of anonymity.
With Lester ruling out the San Francisco Giants as a destination, the free-agent left-hander appears to have narrowed down the field to the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs. Lester informed the Giants that he would be signing with another team, Giants assistant general manager Bobby Evans told reporters.
The Dodgers are known to have checked in with Lester, but it’s unknown how seriously they pursued him.
The team is looking to add at least another starting pitcher.
General Manager Farhan Zaidi said the Dodgers continue to explore both the free-agent and trade markets.
The Dodgers have four starters lined up for the upcoming season: Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Dan Haren.
