Kastles defeat Breakers

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Orange County Breakers lost their regular-season World Team Tennis finale to the Washington Kastles, 25-19, on Saturday at George Washington University.
Dennis Novikov earned the only set win for the Breakers (8-4), beating Washington marquee player Nick Kyrgios, 5-4, in the final set of men’s singles.
The season ended for Washington (7-5), which was five-time defending league champion.
Orange County will play the San Diego Aviators in the WTT final on Aug. 26 at the West Side Tennis Club in New York.
San Diego is the No. 1 seed, with the Breakers No. 2.
