Newport Beach police officials will speak Wednesday evening about how to increase chances for survival during a shooting situation.
The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Newport Beach Civic Center Community Room, 100 Civic Center Drive.
Officer Marie Gamble and other members of the Police Department will focus on how to prepare for an active shooter threat, options during a shooting and what to expect when police arrive.
The discussion, presented by Speak Up Newport, comes a little more than a month after two attackers opened fire at a holiday party at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, killing 14 people and injuring 22.
