UCI’s Buckley lauded

UC Irvine senior Camille Buckley posted a pair of double-doubles to earn Big West Conference Player of the Week honors in women’s basketball.
The 6-foot-1 forward notched a game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds in a one-point loss to Hawaii, in which she made seven of 11 field-goal attempts on Feb. 20.
In a 76-72 win over Big West leader Cal State Northridge on Feb. 22, Buckley had a game-high 28 points and 16 rebounds and knocked down 12 of 14 free-throw attempts.
Buckley had hit 159 for 203 from the foul line this year, tying the school single-season record for made free throws and surpassing the school standard for attempts.
For the week, Buckley averaged 22.5 points, 13 rebounds and two assists per game while shooting 46.9% from the field (15 for 32).
It is the third conference player of the week award for Buckley this season.
