Orange Coast College sophomore right tackle Taylor Evans was named Most Valuable Player at the postseason football banquet, Pirates Coach Mike Taylor said.
“We haven’t had an offensive lineman named MVP for a long, long time, but he was our best football player,” Taylor said of the 6-foot-4, 300-pounder out of Fort Union, Va.
Taylor said Evans, a two-year starter for the Pirates, is considering scholarship offers from Boise State, Nevada, Indiana State, Memphis State and Middle Tennessee.
“[Evans] has a chance to be a pretty good offensive lineman at the next level,” Taylor said.
