Sage Hill def. Calvary Chapel Downey
Sophomore middle blocker Sophia Mossman finished with eight kills and three service aces in a 25-8, 25-9, 25-8 sweep by the Lightning in an Academy League home match on Thursday.
Sage Hill, ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division 3-A poll, improved to 17-4, 7-0 in league.
Kekai Whitford had six kills, nine digs and four aces for the Lightning.
Halland McKenna recorded five kills.
Sage Hill plays at Oxford Academy on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Hayley Hodson had 14 kills to help lead the Sea Kings to a 25-16, 25-21, 25-11 Pacific Coast League win Thursday.
Katie Craig had six kills, Samantha Jones had five kills and Paige Migliori had three aces for CdM (15-4, 5-0 in league).

Newport Harbor 17, Marina 1
Kylie McCullough swept at No. 3 singles winning all 18 sets for the Sailors in the Sunset League match at Marina Thursday.
Anna Burke and Kendall Cosenza swept at No. 1 doubles, while Annie LeGrandeur and Reagan Rutter swept at No. 2 doubles for Newport Harbor (11-8, 5-2 in league).

Corona del Mar 10, Woodbridge 8
The Sea Kings led 10-2 en route to the Pacific Coast League win Thursday at CdM.
Lauren Thaxter won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles before being subbed out for CdM (12-2). In doubles, the Sea Kings swept six out of six sets in the first two rounds.

Marina 233, Newport Harbor 248
The Sailors’ Grace Ferrell earned medalist honors for the 10th time this season after shooting four-over-par 40 in the Sunset League match Thursday at Big Canyon Country Club.
Tehya Corona (47), Madison Fernandez (50), Sabrina Weiler (51) and Christina Ferraro (60) also scored for Newport Harbor (6-10, 2-8 in league) in it regular-season finale.
The Sailors will compete in the Sunset League finals Monday at Lakewood Golf Course.
