College Roundup: UCI women’s volleyball improves to 4-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Allison Lee was errorless on the day and posted a career-high 17 kills to help the Anteaters hand Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne its first loss of the year with a 25-15, 25-12, 25-23 decision at the Cleveland State Invitational.
Lee did not commit an error in 28 attempts to hit a match-high .607 against the Mastadons. She led the Anteaters (4-0) with 13 digs and also added three block assists.
Shannon Fleming had a match-high five block assists and led all players with three aces. Aly Squires had 16 kills in 43 attempts with just a pair of errors to hit .326. Shelley Anderson dished out 21 assists while Mackenzi Campbell recorded 16. Molly Yoder and Marisa Bubica picked up 12 digs each in the win.
The Anteaters play Saturday at 7 a.m. against High Point and then take on Cleveland State at 4 p.m.

Menlo College Tournament
Vanguard def. Menlo
ATHERTON — Jessica Neves had 13 kills, 15 assists and three aces to lead the Lions to a 25-23, 25-21, 25-20 win Friday.
Myranda Cunningham had 16 assists and Rachael Barker and Charlotte Heerlyn added six kills each for Vanguard (7-2).
Menlo is 2-2.
Sarah McKinny had 10 kills to help lead the Lions to a 25-10, 25-6, 25-14 win over Mills later in the day.
Kelly Dalrymple had 15 assists.

Vanguard 4, Marymount 2
PALOS VERDES — Jordan Davidson scored two goals to help the Lions improve to 3-0 after the nonconference match Friday.
Kayla Arenas and Liliana Ruiz added one goal each, while Meghan Stoll had two assists and Ruiz had one assist for Vanguard, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA preseason poll.
Marymount is 1-1.

CARSON — Luke Kadillak scored the equalizer for the Lions in the 67th minute of the nonconfernce match.
Vanguard fell to 1-1.
Marymount is 3-1.
