Cal Poly 77, UC Irvine 74
SAN LUIS OBISPO— The Anteaters erased a 22-point first-half deficit before falling in the Big West Conference game Saturday night.
Michael Wilder led UC Irvine (9-16, 5-7 in conference) with 21 points, including five three-pointers. Adam Folker added a career-high 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds, and Daman Starring scored 12 points. Derick Flowers tied his career high with nine assists.
UCI was tied, 73-73, with 1:33 remaining but the Mustangs went back up. A potential tying three-point attempt with four seconds left was off the mark.
Cal Poly improved to 15-11, 6-6.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Pacific 87, UC Irvine 63
STOCKTON — Senior guard Kassandra McCalister had a team-high 16 points for the Anteaters in the Big West Conference road game Saturday.
The Anteaters were outscored, 53-29, in the second half after the score was tied at 34 at halftime.
Sophomore forward Jacquelyn Marshall added 13 points and seven rebounds for UCI (11-14, 7-5 in conference). Sophomore forward Jasmine Bernard added 11 points off the bench, all in the second half.
Pacific improved to 14-9, 7-4.

WOMEN’S WATER POLO
UC San Diego tournament
SAN DIEGO — UC Irvine defeated Marist, 16-4, and topped Maryland, 12-6, at UC San Diego on Saturday.
Kelsey Klatt had a team-best thee goals against Maryland, while Jessy Cardey had three goals against Marist.
The No. 6-ranked Anteaters are 7-1 advance to the semifinals Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
UC Irvine def. Hawaii
HONOLULU, Hawaii — Senior opposite Carson Clark had 19 kills and sophomore outside hitter Jeremy Dejno had 15 to help the No. 2-ranked Anteaters earn a 23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-19 win in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match late Friday night.
Clark hit .429 and blasted two aces, while Dejno had three aces for the visitors (8-2, 4-2 in conference).
Senior middle blocker Dan McDonnell had 12 kills and hit .474 for the winners, who received 48 assists from Daniel Stork.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
UC Irvine 4, Wyoming 3
IRVINE — Kristina Smith and Franziska Goettsching both won in singles and doubles to key the host Anteaters in the nonconference match Saturday.
Smith won at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0, and teamed with Goettsching to post an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Goettsching posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, while Kat Facey and Marivick Mamiit won at Nos. 4 and 6 singles, respectively, for UCI (3-3).
Wyoming is 3-3.
