Corona del Mar High baseball coach John Emme, who has won 317 games with the Sea Kings, said on Monday that he is retiring after the end of the season.
Emme is in his 21st year in charge of the Sea Kings. He led CdM to CIF Southern Section Division IV titles in 1999 and 2004.
Last year, Emme guided CdM to its first Pacific Coast League championship since the 2006 season.
“It has been a great run,” Emme said via Facebook. “The field [and] facility is done, the Hall of Fame is a fixture and the program is in good shape. I am looking forward to my boys making me proud for this one last run. Thanks for 21 great years [CdM] baseball. You got [two-thirds] of my adult life and I wouldn’t trade a moment.”
