Sage Hill School exacted revenge for a 32-point defeat to Tustin in the Corona del Mar Tip-off Tournament last week.
The Lightning turned the tables, defeating the Tillers 45-31 on Wednesday in the Hawk Holiday Classic at Liberty Christian High.
Freshman center Emily Elliott led Sage Hill (4-2) with 18 points. Sophomore point guard Trinity Cha and junior forward Nadia Akbari each had nine points.
“We shared the ball more effectively today,” Lightning coach Kerwin Walters said via text. “Tustin was missing their key big, but our girls played well on defense and showed patience on offense.”
Sage Hill will square off with El Toro (2-5) at 3 p.m. at Oxford Academy on Friday. A win would put the Lightning in the Flight II championship game, which will be played at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Ocean View High.
