Costa Mesa def. Katella
Cat Kricorian had 15 kills and Kintak Keju amassed 45 assists to help the Mustangs win their nonleague season-opening match, 25-17, 25-14, 20-25, 20-25, 15-8 Thursday at home.
Karina Cruz had 32 digs and Kiersten Gyorgy had 12 kills and 20 digs for Estancia (1-0).

Corona del Mar 12, Santa Margarita 6
Camellia Edalat and Taylor Fogarty swept at No. 2 doubles for the Sea Kings, 6-4, 6-0, 6-3, in the nonleague match Thursday.
The Sea Kings (3-0) have not dropped a set in doubles this season. In singles, Danielle Wilson, Jasie Dunk and Elena Fisch won one set each.
CdM plays host to the Battle of the Bay on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Anna Burke and Kendall Cosenza swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, for the Sailors in the nonleague match Thursday at home.
Annie LaGrandeur and Livi Zehnder won two of three at No. 2 doubles and Nicole Knickerbocker won two of three at No. 2 singles for Newport Harbor (1-2).
The Sailors play against Mater Dei Friday at Los Caballeros Raquet Club in Fountain Valley.
