Folker signs abroad

Former UC Irvine men’s basketball player Adam Folker has signed a contract with BK Nova Hut Ostrava of the Czech Republic’s National Basketball League, the school announced Tuesday.

Folker, who twice won the Big West Conference Hustle Award, was a 6-foot-9 post player for the Anteaters. As a fifth-year senior in 2012-13, he averaged 9.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and shot 57.2% from the field to help UCI reach the final of the Big West Tournament and earn a berth in the CollegeInsider.com postseason tournament.
