Men’s Golf: UCI duo earns All-Big West honors

UC Irvine men’s golfers Pete Fernandez and Travis Russell were named second-team All-Big West Conference for the 2012-13 season.

Fernandez, a sophomore, is a repeat second-team selection. He led the Anteaters with four top-10 finishes this season with a scoring average of 74.06. His top finish of the season was fourth at The Folino Invitational.

Russell, a junior in his first season with the ‘Eaters after transferring from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, led UCI with a 74.00 average. The Newport Harbor High product had three top-10 finishes, including medalist honors at The Folino Invitational.

Junior Allan Jun received honorable mention.
