High School Roundup: Marina girls’ basketball falls to Woodbridge

Malia Kawakubo had 11 points and five rebounds, but the Marina High girls’ basketball team lost to Woodbridge 50-29 on Saturday night in a nonleague game at home.
Jeannie Skidmore contributed six points and 10 rebounds, and Kat Robinson also had four points and five rebounds.
Marina (5-17) remains at home for a Wave League matchup with Laguna Beach (9-13) on Thursday at 7 p.m.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Brethren Christian 48, Avalon 44: Jace Knowles scored 23 points for the Warriors in Saturday’s Express League home game.
Seth Klaasen scored eight points for Brethren Christian (13-3, 5-2 in league).
